Texas Prison Population Shrinking
The Texas prison population is at its lowest point in five years. The numbers in Texas' 111 state prisons has decreased from 156,600 a year ago to about 154,000, which is a drop of about 2,500 inmates. This trend is not merely isolated to Texas prisons, but is an occurrence happening across the country as well.
